Comparative Tip

• Simply translate  "B yori" as "more than B" 
• Do not worry about translating "cold into colder" or "far into farther".
• The adjective has a degree modifiers like a)  mou - more b) chotto - little c)  zutto - far more

Adjective* Comparisons

1. Simple comparison
   1. A wa B yori oishii desu.  A, more than B, is tasty" 
   2. A wa B yori toi desu.  A, more than B, is far (from here).
2. Distance comparison - can involve three points
   1. (koko kara) A wa b yori toi desu.    (from here) A, more than B, is far.
   2. eki kara, A wa B yori toi desu.  From the station, A, more than B, is far. 
3. Point in Time comparisons - pay attention to tenses.
   1. kesa yori samui desu.  More than this morning, it is cold (now).  Tense implies now.
   2. Kesa wa kinou (no asa) yori samukatta.  This morning, more that yesterday (morning), is cold.  Note: tense implies it is in the morning when said)
   3. kesa wa kinou yori samukatta.  (same as last item but tense tense implies it is in the afternoon when said)
